The Vitamin- August 6, 2009

John 8:12 NIV

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."

Matthew 5:14-16 NIV

"You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. {15} Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. {16} In the same way, let your light shine before men, that they may see your good deeds and praise your Father in heaven.

Have you ever noticed how much easier it is to see things in the light? No, duh. That’s why we have lights in every room, headlights for our cars, streetlights for the streets. We have lights in the oven fridge and garage, and God has made YOU to be a light wherever you go so that others will see the love, mercy and forgiveness of God in you.

That doesn’t mean we always have to be in a good mood. It doesn’t mean we have to fake a smile all the time. It does mean that in every interaction and in every situation we display mercy, grace, humility, patience and forgiveness. When we do that, Christ is shining through us.

Let others see and experience God’s love through you. Shine!

Brightly,

Pastor Prigge
